Importing your eBay Listings into Homestead Storefront™
If you’re already an eBay seller, you can import your listings from eBay into Homestead Storefront in a couple of different ways. You can choose the approach that best meets your needs based on the number of your listings, the content included in the listings, and finally your comfort level with eBay tools and spreadsheet applications.
Your import options include:
- The ‘Build Catalog Using eBay Listings’ feature, which allows you to create products from your eBay listings and then select the products you would like to copy into your Homestead Storefront catalog. eBay listings include eBay Store and individual listings based on your eBay seller account. You’ll find the ‘Build Catalog Using eBay Listings’ option in the ‘eBay Tools’ area of Store Administration. Go to Store Administration>>Product>>Market Demand>>eBay>>Tools, then click on Active Listings and/or Ended Listings.
- Homestead Storefront also supports adding products to your store by importing eBay Turbo Lister or File Exchange files, which are generated by eBay. You’ll find the ‘Import Store Data’ option in the support manager of Store Administration, where you’ll be able to import an eBay Turbo Lister File, an eBay File Exchange file or a Storefront formatted product file (.csv or .txt tab delimited format). Go to Store Administration>>Support>>Import Data to begin.
Which approach is best for you?
If you do not have the ability or tools to create an eBay File Exchange or Turbo Lister file with your listings, you will probably want to use the ‘Build Catalog Using eBay Listings’ option. It provides the easiest and quickest approach to moving a limited number of listings from eBay to Homestead Storefront.
If you do have the tools and experience to create Turbo Lister and/or File Exchange product files, and you plan to import more than 100 listings at a time, you should consider the ‘Store Data Import’ option and import your eBay Turbo Lister or File Exchange file.
If you have a large number of listings and don’t have the tools to create a Turbo Lister or File Exchange product files, and you are comfortable working with data in spreadsheets or tab delimited files, you may want to create and import a Storefront formatted file with your listing data.
